Singapore soldier. Regimental records?
« on: Saturday 20 August 05 22:00 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am trying to find any details about where records for births for British subjects, possibly army births, in Singapore during WW2 would be kept. I've been told that all records for births would have been destroyed in the Japanese invasion of Singapore.

Would there be an address to write to which would be able to check colonels reports or service records, and which may have some indication of either a marriage if there was one or a son or daughters birth?

Many thanks for any help or advice you can give.

I'm not sure - but I think it will be hard to get information - because of the privacy/confidentiality factor! I found these articles that may give you some ideas!
