Thomas Morris
« on: Wednesday 29 January 20 14:54 GMT (UK) »
When Thomas Morris married Elizabeth Mansell in 1870 in Staffordshire  he  states his father was James Morris, a collier.
In all census records from 1851  to his marriage and after he is with  his mother Ellen Chase and stepfather Richard Chase. Thomas was born St Martins, Shropshire
In 1849 when Ellen Morris married Richard Chase she was a spinster.  and her father was Thomas Morris.
I can find Richard Chase in 1841, but not Ellen Morris.

I can`t find a positive birth registration for Thomas but there is a baptism on FindMyPast that might be him. I searched with mothers name Ellen.
Morris   Thomas   1847   Shropshire Baptisms   St Martin's (Weston Rhyn Tithe Map),

Would some kind person take a look please, I`m only on Anc and can`t find this.

Just wondering if this is Ellen's baptism in Selattyn.  I recall that Lodge (in my day!!) was in Weston Rhyn and not all that far from Selattyn

Selattyn 17 Sept 1826, Eleanor Morris, d of Thomas (labourer) and Mary of St Martins parish

I  noticed that on your other thread that Thomas was listed as born Pontfaen on one of the censuses. That's the area just on the border of the Chirk and St Martins (Weston Rhyn Tything). My Stokes family came from there!
