I also use lever arch binders for each of my main families, and then each is divided by generation.  For generations I have created a template which incorporates husband and wife/wives showing their birth, marriage and death dates, then the same for each of the children.  At the end I show census details, and any other relevant information for that generation/family.  The template was, I think, based on something I found many years ago related to the LDS.  I don't appear to be able to attach an example.  :-\
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Hi Josephine

I’m glad you found the way I organise my system of interest.

The notebooks I use are

https://www.amazon.co.uk/LEUCHTTURM1917-344784-Notebook-numbered-anthracite/dp/B00FWRVTMO/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=leuchtturm1917&qid=1601136392&sprefix=leu&sr=8-1

I just prefer these to others I have seen.

You can use any type of book depends on your budget or buy a batch all one colour and label them yourself.

If you wanted copies of my master sheets to use or adapt just send me a dm with your email address and I will send them through

I’m a firm believer of if you have a system and it works for you then why change, stick with what you know works.

My system has evolved over many years and has been modified numerous times because I have seen something better or have not been able to find something!

I have had a few more people recently asking about organising your family history and wanting copies of my sheets. So if anybody else wants a copy just let me know

Cheers

Paul

It's taken me a long long time to get myself organised, no system is perfect, believe  me! Mine has evolved and been adapted over the years, normally when I have been unable to find something when I needed it most, or I have downloaded or ordered a certificate twice!

I have added pictures and written up how my system works. I use a lot of templates and sheets that I have made for myself, if anybody wants a copy of any of these, don't hesitate to give me a shout.
