Thanks Gerry. He certainly had a X500000 number but he would have been too young to join the BCOF (and serve overseas). So his X500000 number must have been a CMF number, presumably also between 1946 and June 1947. He turned 18 on 12 Mar 1946. Geoff

Bit of info from a newspaper relating to recruiting for the Interim Army in Feb 1946 including for service in Japan.

Thanks again. The fact they went to Liverpool for medicals and enlistment is interesting, given our man enlisted at Liverpool.
