Just trying to make one more attempt to try to suss out where they may have married.

The burial ceremony for both Elizabeth and son was performed by a Francis M. Holmes.  Sorry, I realise now that I should have noted this before when I looked up the burial.  :-[

I know we can't take it as read, but perhaps this Francis may have been the Minister at the Church they attended and perhaps this might also be the Church they married at.  So perhaps if it is possible to find out more about Francis M. Holmes we might still be able to find the marriage, hopefully.

I will see if anyone has any ideas.

There is a Francis Holmes living in Clumber Street Elswick in 1891. He is a Roman Catholic Priest.
St Michaels RC church, Elswick was in Clumber Street.

I think you've already checked there  :-\

Yes, that is disappointing .. I have already checked there and didn't find them.  Oh well it was worth a try. Thank you Jen for checking.

I have found now that this Priest seems to have been at Our Lady & St Thomas, Willington in 1939 celebrating his 50th anniversary.
