Gertrude Hill and Harry Down Bristol

I was wondering if someone could help me trace Gertrude Hill and Harry Down who were living in Bristol c 1917? I don’t have many other details unfortunately.

Were they related?  If so - in what way?

How do you know they were living in Bristol?

How do you know their names but nothing else?

You must know they married in 1915 as per freebmd and that she was Gertrude E Hill so have you used freebmd to check for any children?

Have you looked on the 1939 register?  I can see an entry for them in Gloucs with full birthdates.  That info should help to find their births on freebmd

If you really know nothing else about them then you need to buy a copy of their marriage cert to get their respective fathers names

Have you checked the 1911 census for them?

Hi they were husband and wife. They aren’t related to me, I’m trying to find out in behalf of someone else.

Death for Harry Mar 1979 gives a birth 23rd June 1878.
Census 1901 gives father John Down carpenter born 1844 Werrington Cornwall  and Annie born 1842 Kelly Devon
Gertrude Edith born Clutton Sep 1887 mother's maiden name Vincent.
She's in service 1901 /1911
1891 Midsommer
Alfred Hill born 1849 Oakhill and Elizabeth M Hill born 1849 Tanerton F.

Not sure if there is 'confusion' over Harry's parentage/dob - as can follow a Harry Goman DOWN - mother's maiden name not quoted - 1877 S Quarter in Launceston (through the various census returns)

There is a tree on Ancestry, for Henry Goman DOWN - parents: John DOWN and Mary JASPER (1844-1933) - married 26 March 1867, Davidstow, Cornwall - and Mary DOWN is on an1881 census, Widow aged 38, General Servant, (Domestic) born Cornwall, Launceston.

? was John DOWN a Ship Carpenter
