Mortcloth records
« on: Thursday 13 February 20 13:39 GMT (UK) »
I am still trying to find a death for my 3 x great grandmother Jean Kelman nee Milne who possibly died between 1824 & 1841 & wondered if there could be a record in the Rhynie & Essie kirk records for a mortcloth.
Old Scottish. com say that there is a cash book for Rhynie & Essie covering the years 1823 - 1835 but they charge £5 for a search of 5 year periods.
Is there another way in which I could search the records for the information.

Kirk Session records can be seen free on computer in the National Records of Scotland and in various other archives in Scotland, for example Aberdeen and Kilmarnock.

Thanks, but unfortunately as I live in Cambridgeshire that is out of the question at the moment unless we go up later in the year
