My own birth certificate mistake.
« on: Thursday 13 February 20 18:59 GMT (UK) »
I don`t consider myself to be vain, but I looked myself up on FreeBMDfor some unknown reason (too much time on my hands !) . I  couldn`t find myself, which I thought was strange but other births for the same town, same qtr were there. I put in just my first name, year and qtr leaving surname blank, to discover that my surname began with an M and not an N ! There were alos 3 listings for some girls with the same forename which I recognised as being at school with me; there were 6 of us together with the same first name !

So taking a look at my original birth certificate, I can "now" see that the N does indeed seem like an M, even to the point where my father`s occupation was Military Police and "that" M looked the same ! Also, I hadn`t realised that his service number is on the certificate ! In all these years, I haven`t looked at the original many times, but each time it`s told me what my name is, not what it`s listed as. I guess you see what you want to see !

My sister was registered in a different town to me , her entry is correct.
