tracing the COX-NEALE connection
« on: Wednesday 19 February 20 04:27 GMT (UK) »
interested in tracing back my mother's lineage

Thomas COX b.1807 ellington huntingdonshire married Anne NEALE b. 1808 buxworth cambridge

all 9 of their children were born in huntingdonshire

all but one child (George) arrived australia in july 1853 aboard the genghis khan

my research has shown that Thomas' father was James COX but I have not been able to find any other details

any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated

thank you

Did George follow 2 years later 15 May 1855 on the Sea King with wife Ann both listed as 21 on own means going to Melbourne he is an ag lab.from Huntingdonshire. Age is off but correct on death certificate.

He died 1916 Victoria Australia age 85 (born 1831) states his father is Thomas and mother Ann

His mother Ann was 45 in 1851 census and is still 45 two years later.

If they used naming patterns then first male would be named after his father so if William was first
then his father was William.

Although they may not have followed all speculation.

To find the births you will need to check non conformist records, when they emigrated the family is listed as Weslyan

 :) :) :)Thank you.
appreciate your help and the suggestion that perhaps names follow a pattern in families.
that may steer me in a different direction now.
