:) I will need  to come back to this unless solved earlier:-

John Henry Phillips Father Owen Phillips married Augusta Lort Father John Lort 1st May 1848 St Thomas, Haverfordwest, a son Owen Henry Phillips Phillips was baptised 21st October 1847 Burton Father John Henry Mother Augusta.
Owen Henry Phillips Phillips, can be located as Owen Henry Phillips Scourfield in 1871/1881, 1881 a Baronet.
So John Henry complied with the will of William Henry Scourfield.
Think Owen Phillips married an Elizabeth Ann Scourfield 13th December 1804 Roseston West, Pembrokeshire possiibly Henry & William Henry Scourfield were witnesses.

PS the birth registration for Owen Henry Phillips Phillips Dec qtr 1847 Pembroke is odd as it has mmn Phillips?

Also a birth registration of a John Henry Phillips Phillips Dec qtr 1849 Pembroke

that's correct keyboard86. Elizabeth Ann was the younger sister of William Henry Scourfield, and her son, John Hy, inherited from Wm Hy. And yes, the witnesses were her brother and father.

Louisa Sarah married 2 Feb 1854 in the parish church of Tunbridge Wells. James Sutton was full age, bachelor of Weekley, Northamptonshire and his father was John Lucas Sutton, clergyman (he was the vicar of Weekley). Witnesses were John Lucas Sutton, jnr, clerk and Louisa Elizabeth Bowen.
John Lucas Sutton married in St Pancras 11 June 1822 to Letitia Bowen
John Lucas Sutton jnr was baptised 23 July 1826 in Weekley, James Sutton was baptised 5 Jan 1829 in Weekley.

Osprey where did you locate the marriage for Louisa Sarah & James SUTTON??

You have solved the questions surrounding the origins of the SUTTON name.  :)

Osprey and Keyboard,

I thank you very much for your ongoing input.

I will close the post now as so many questions have been resolved and I need time to catch up.  This way you can move on to assisting others.

Very much appreciated and thank you both.

the marriage is on FindmyPast.

One last thing, the brothers of Augusta Lort Philipps met unfortunate ends. Arthur died aged 46, never having recovered from a hunting accident, George died in a hunting accident and Francis John 'met his death from an accidental gun-shot wound while at college'

That is so tragic!

It seems Louisa's life was tragic as well.  I cannot imagine being a young woman and marring a 62 year old man but I suppose marriage was for many reasons.  Then to have lost her next husband so tragically and to then die a few months after her third marriage.

Many thanks for the marriage.  I don't know what I was doing wrong but couldn't see it on FindMyPast but now I have it! :-[

Once again many thanks for your invaluable input.  You and Keyboard86 have contributed significantly to my research.
