Hi

Looking for information regarding

Alojzy Galinski born 27th July 1922 or 1924 - parent's were
Acholf Galinski married to Helena ?

The information I have is that they lived in Poland at a place Targowisko, district Lubawa, Voivodeship, Pomorskie, at the moment it is all double dutch to me!

Can anybody give me a clue where to start?

Thanks

Sue

Hi Sue

look at this page of the west prussian research site.
http://www.westpreussen.de/cms/ct/ortsverzeichnis/details.php?ID=6456

There were 2 places called Targowisko -  Targowisko Dolne and Targowisko Gorne quite near to each other. See map.
----------------------------------------------
In January 2015, Poland introduced new laws guarding civil documents

The following documents are to be kept in the registry office (Standesamt) for a period of:
Births  – 100 years
Mariages – 80 years
Deaths – 80 years

so the registry office has records from:
Births, 1920 – present day
Marriages, 1940 – present day
Deaths, 1940 – present day

The doc´s you are looking for will still be in the registry office responsible for Targowisko which is in Lubawa (Löbau)

Urząd Stanu Cywilnego
z siedzibą w Fijewie
14-260 Lubawa
urzad-miasta@lubawa.pl

To obtain docs from the Standesamt you must provide evidence that you are eligible for application. i.e.direct descendent or relative.
----------------------------------------
after this period the documents are handed over to the state archive.
The State archive has documents from 1874 onwards
Births, 1874- approx 1920
Marriages, 1874-approx 1940
Deaths, 1874- approx 1940
