Mary Harper 1833-1879 of Carnmoney
« on: Saturday 22 February 20 20:20 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for the ancestry of a Mary Harper born in Carnmoney, Ireland about 1833.  Her father was James Harper.
She married 3 times:   William John Moore on 17 Feb 1852 in Carnmoney
William James Spotten on 26 Aug 1853
William John Rodgers on 1 Aug 1859
Anybody have more information regarding her ancestry.

Looks like this man with a will at PRONI:

The Will (with one Codicil) of James Harper late of Camberwell Belfast County Antrim Machine Maker deceased who died 1 August 1870 at same place was proved at Belfast by the oath of Henry Montgomery of Bangor County Down Merchant Tailor one of the Executors.

D/1870/48/1007/7/169    James    Harper    1st August 1870    69       Male    Belfast(pre-1973 Q4

14 pages of will, 12 June 1869. Premises in Unity St, Wilson St, Hollywood (Down),

- grandson William James Spotten
- son William John Harper
- granddaughter Mary Moore Ellis
- son James Harper
- daughter Mary Rodgers, wife of William Rodgers - must be Mary Harper who died 16 May 1879.

The 1859 marriage names her as Mary Spotten otherwise Moore otherwise Harper. There may be complications with an 1853 court case and a Robert Lockhart. (This is from years ago and I hope another thread has Lockhart details).

good luck

Derrel   I'm researching Harpers. I have a James Harper b 1782 the son of John Harper and Isabella Jamison. of Carnmoney.  James married Janet Hunter in 1813 in Carnmoney.I don't know of any children for James and Janet, because I've been searching for descendants of his brother Robert Park Harper, but I thought being Carnmoney it might help in your search.
