Twn Refail, Llecheynfarwy, blacksmith.
« on: Monday 24 February 20 11:23 GMT (UK) »
I wondered if anyone knows anything about a blacksmith in Llecheynfarwy, particularly in the mid-1950s? I may have a family connection.

In the mid-1880s, I understand there was a blacksmith called Hugh Jones who ran the smithy alongside Llechcynfarway Church.

Does anyone know how long this smithy stayed in the family?
Was this the only blacksmith in Llecheynfarwy?

From another post here on rootschat, I learned that:

Hugh Jones was a blacksmith. His smithy was right alongside Llechcynfarwy church. He had three sons, named William, John and Owen. William and Owen stayed on at the smithy but John went to carry flour for Treban Mill. All three names are on the headstone in Llechcynfarwy churchyard.

I have no idea if this family is to the Twn Refail, Llecheynfarwy of the early to mid-1950s but any leads would be appreciated.

Thank you
