Robert Greaves 1746-1819 Kirk Deighton
« on: Monday 02 March 20 17:31 GMT (UK) »
I'm hoping that someone may be able to help with finding the marriage for
Robert Greaves born 1746 Kirk Deighton died 1819 Kirk Deighton.
His parents were William F. Greaves and Faith Whitehead who married in Kirk Deighton 1731.
Robert married an Ann, as she is the mother of his children according to birth records.

Many thanks for help with my latest conundrum!

What is the earliest baptism of their children?

I can see Robert GREAVES bap 21 July 1793 at Kirk Deighton, are there any before this?

Licence is at Borthwicks

Unfortunately
Index says Ann Atkinson was 25 and Robert Greaves was 31

Is there another Robert Greaves?  Perhaps the 1746 one died and a second son named Robert?
Or actual licence may reveal a transcription error.

No, the 1746 one looks like the only one.

Thanks very much for your help maddys52 and Mckha489.
Robert and Ann's oldest child is William Greaves 1787, according to the birth records I have; which probably means the marriage by licence in 1787 was a shotgun type of marriage! I'll do a bit more cross checking if I can, but your answers look hopeful.  :)
