Hi all

I am hoping someone might be able to shed some light on the origin/christening of John Bing. John was probably born sometime in the early 17th century [probably around early 1600] as he was married twice. In 1622 at Blean he married Susanna Greenland and they had 6 children who were all christened at Selling:

Sara - July 1630
Mildred - May 1634
Jana - September 1636
Nicholas - May 1641
Elizabeth - November 1643
Anne - October 1647

Susanna must have died between 1647 and 1649 as John married Mary Rolfe [also spelt Rolf and Rolfe] on 24 July 1649 at Challock. They had one child, John, who was born in Selling in October 1651.

John Bing was buried at Selling on 3 June 1673.

Can anyone offer any suggestions to where he may have come from?

There is a baptism for a John Bing 27/12/1601 Ash Next Sandwich Kent - Father James Bing.

Thanks for that one. Ash next Sandwich is about 10 miles from Blean. It may be a bit far away but it's definitely worth looking into.
