My maternal grandmothers maiden name was Smillie, her dads dad was Joseph Douglas Smillie, 1896-1964. I am trying to figure out who his parents are but I'm not sure.
Joseph Married Isabella Brown Little, niece of famous scottish MP James Brown.
They had 3 children, Isabell Smillie 1921-1994, John Smillie 1923-1996 (my great grandpa) and Ann Smillie 1925-2013. Joseph had a brother called Robert Smillie.

Joseph Douglas Smillie married Isabella Brown Little in Tarbolton in 1920. Their marriage certificate will tell you the full names of both sets of parents including their mothers' maiden surnames. Get it from Scotland's People.
