Missing Clark(e) children
« on: Thursday 26 March 20 18:46 GMT (UK) »
Ann(ie) Calford marries William Clark(e) in August 1881 in Bitton, Bristol.

In the 1911 census Annie says she has had 8 children, of which 5 have died.

I have so far found the following children

Ernest 1883-1883
Lucy 1885 - 1947
Lily 1886 - 1979
Minnie 1889 - 1891
Laura 1890 - 1942
Miriam 1895 - 1896

Could anyone find the other two children? I have been up and down the GRO index today, but cannot seem to find any more children for the couple.

Thanks
Lisa

Thank you. Poor couple, they don’t seem to have had much luck with their family.

In 1911 William is stated as having paralysis

May be connected , if paralysis = general paralysis of the insane, a result of syphilis which also causes fertility and infant mortality issues

Yes, I did wonder if that was why.
