1871 Lookup Please - Lynch

I have found my family in the 1881 census in Guernsey, according to birth details on that in 1871 they should be in Alderney. Any help on finding them would be great.

These are the details

Denis Lynch born Limerick, he would be about 35, and would still of been in the army
Susan (Susannah) Lynch, born Devon age about 36
Catherine born England age about 7
William born England age about 4
Thomas born Alderney age about 2

Denis should I think be Alderney, as a daughter Louisa was born there sometime in 1871/72.

I have looked through with exact and soundex spellings and there is no Denis Lynch at all

I presume he was single and in the Army so he may well be 'elsewhere'

Depends on birth month for Lousia.

Thomas was born in Alderney c.1868 and Louisa c. 1871 so I wonder where they were for the census!
