Hi Matt,
I have a copy of the  Faringdon marriages (Ex Oxford FHS) and they only appear in 1731 as you say. There is no entry for them in 1728 in my records.

Interestingly there is only one Holiday baptism in Faringdon) and that is for;
16-3-1714 Sarah Holiday d/o Michael & Mary - no further info.
(as listed in my earlier reply #4 but recorded in Lt.Coxwell)

Could it be they tried to get married earlier but were underage? and waited till 1731.

Hi Alan

That makes sense to me. I have a record of Sarah's christening dated 16 March 1715 which would mean that if they married in 1731 she would have been about 16, so she would definitely would have been under age if they tried to marry in 1728.
