Dear RootsChat,

On 26 Dec 1931 the Rev John J. Callahan officiated at the funeral of Margaret McCabe Anderson who passed away in Wethersfield CT.  The funeral notice reads "Rev John J. Callahan of Venesia, N. Y., "nephew".  I would really like to find out a little more about the Rev John J. Callahan, at the moment I can't quite fit him into the McCabe family.  All ideas welcome please!  Daniel.

This was another obituary for Margaret, it mentions the McCabe family.

Hmm this might throw a spanner in the works. A WW2 Draft for a Rev John J Callahan in    Easthampton, Hampshire, Massachusetts born 29 January 1906 - employers name Bishop Thomas O'Leary.  Brother was the person who would always know him - Francis Daniel Callahan.

Checking the census John  was just a student (seminery) in 1930 so that would surely discount him from carrying out a funeral service ...........
