wonder if any one doing SMITH  GILROY and GILROY SMITH families as they are both connected through marriage SMITH from MUIRKIRK and GILROY from LEITH Iam doing this at the moment and would help any one tracing them  my gran was a SMITH her mother a GILROY  THANKS

Have you checked the Surname Interests Board?  Link at bottom of page under Tools

If you have Ancestry access - have you checked if anybody has a family tree containing the christian names of your Smith/Gilroy families

There are 21 Smith/Gilroy marriages at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk - that is your starting point.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
