The elusive Beatrice Woodington
« on: Friday 03 April 20 13:30 BST (UK) »
Could anyone help me find out what happened to Beatrice Woodington?

Her birth is registered March quarter 1898 in Barton Regis, MMN Harvey. There is another Beatrice Woodington registered in 1899, but this one is not of interest to me.

Beatrice shows in the 1901 and 1911 census with parents Isaac Walter Woodington (in 1911 he’s down as Walter), and Mary (Mary dies 1910) and siblings Ernest, Daisy, Gertrude, Elsie, Nellie, and Walter. Both brothers lose their lives in WW1.

There is a marriage for a Beatrice to a Thomas Morgan in 1919, but the marriage on Ancestry gives father as Henry, so probably the 1899 Beatrice.

I’ve traced all her siblings, but Beatrice eludes me. Any assistance would be welcomed.

Beatrice's father was a Bootmaker, and Henry was a Miner.

?  There is a marriage Keynsham District Dec Qtr 1926

for
Beatrice WOODINGTON to a Harold MORGAN

(Beatrice didn't appear to have a middle name on birth registration)

There is a birth March Qtr 1931

MORGAN James W - mother's maiden name: WOODINGTON, Bristol

There is also

Birth Jun Qtr 1927

Peggy J MORGAN - Keynsham - mother's maiden name transcribed as WOODINGTIN

I’ve found a Harold Morgan and a Beatrice in the 1939 register - but this Beatrice has a middle initial M. There’s also a red asterisk against her name, and in green above her name is Curtis, Beatrice A, and the notation 3.12.65 EC1AGG. There was a Curtis family living next door.

There are two closed entries below Harold and Beatrice, whic I suppose could be James and Peggy.

I don’t think this is the lady I am looking for - wrong parents, and a middle name where my Beatrice didn’t have one.

Lots of people in that area were in the shoe trade. The two Woodington branches, or more, will be connected. However, Beatrice, daughter of Isaac and Mary, is still a mystery

I suppose one way of trying is ordering the birth certificate and with the exact birth date, searching the 1939 Register and also the death records? Does she appear in any of the records of her parents or siblings after 1911? for example as a witness to the wedding?
