Printer misbehaving!
« on: Saturday 04 April 20 09:12 BST (UK) »
My printer is only printing parts of a page in the top left hand corner ::)
My normal technical help [son in law and grandchildren] are unavailable at the moment.
Any ideas?
It is an Epson XP 332

Not sure  but do you do a Print Preview before you press Print?  This will show you how it will print. It could be that the page layout is wrong.

When was it last used?

I had a similar problem when printing from mailmerge. If I just clicked on print everything went to top left but when I clicked on print preview it showed the correct layout and printing from that screen was fine.

Also check that you are trying to print on the correct size paper.

It could be a simple matter that Printer Head just needs cleaning, a job for Son in Law (or phone him about it). Did he ever clean printer head?

...or Cartridge is out of Ink, but you should get an on-screen warning about that.

Go to DEVICES and PRINTERS
Select your model and Right-click for a drop down menu
you will find Maintenance    ...  There will be Options such as Align Print,  Clean, Clean Black, Clean Colours, Print Test Page etc!
Choose any one of them  .  it'll use up some ink.
Some printers' Status or Monitor Programs GUESS at the amount of ink you have used by having a count of the copies you have printed ... it doesn't know how much ink you have. Some of them SNEAKILY stop printing until you buy New Cartridges. You can bypass that ... search the internet quoting your make and model of printer.
Open a Paint program and make up an A4 sheet of coloured blob shapes and some text in Black and   Red, Blue and Yellow and Save it to your DESKTOP and name the file Print-test Page.
Anytime you have a problem, One click shows what the supposed problem is .. if your Test page prints.
In the Preferences section of your Print window, just check you haven't selected A5 instead of A4, just in case
