Fate of Elizabeth, wife of John Youd
« on: Sunday 05 April 20 19:35 BST (UK) »
William Youd was born in Doddleston, Cheshire in 1794, son of John Youd and Elizabeth Reynolds, who seem to have married the previous year, also in Doddleston.

However, I am unable to find any other children of John and Elizabeth. All of the other Youds born in Doddleston to a father named John have a mother listed Mary, though I can't find a relevant death for Elizabeth in the 1790s. There is a death for an Elizabeth Youd, wife of Thomas Youd, but that seems to be it.

There is a marriage of a John Youd and Mary Chamber in Hope, Flintshire in 1797, but John is listed as a bachelor and not a widow.

What is going on? Any help would be much appreciated.

The tree on familysearch says William was born in Higher Kinnerton which is in Flintshire with his death in Hope in 1855. Might be worth a look?

Was your John a farrier?

"NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
THAT I, JOHN YOUD of the city of Chester, farrier, will not be answerable for any debt or debts, my wife MARY YOUD may contract for the future; and my customers are desired not to pay her any money on my account, as she has possessed herself of my books, and otherwise behaved improperly. As witness my hand this 2d. day of July, 1807.
JOHN YOUD
Witnessed: JAMES WILLIAMS."

I believe Higher / Lower Kinnerton are in the parish of Dodleston.

He could have become one, I don't know. His marriage record lists him as a farmer.

1804 is too late as there are children born to John and Mary in the 1790s, hence no time for the remarriage.
