In the Australian National Archives there are 2 separate files from 1950 for this family. You can access them, but will have to order them online first. It is not possible to know what detail there is in the files, without looking.

Item barcode 4260270 is for Marian DOBROWOLSKI (Polish) b.8.12.1916 arriving Melbourne on board ship "General W C Langfitt" on 14.1.1950.

Item barcode 4260270 is for the whole family and lists names and dates of birth for Christina b.18.12.1924 (Germany) and the 2 children a son b.1946  (Germany) and a daughter b.1948 (Germany). I have not listed the children's names here.

How do you know Christina went to New Zealand?
It will be difficult to find out if Christina married again, as the marriage records for the possible years are not accessible.
Have you tried looking for her name in NZ papers?

The other 2 males have also died . Both girls still living .The wife of Marians grandson is a friend. Been helping her with some of their family tree.

Will need to be patient to get any files from the NAA Canberra at the moment

What time period does Papers Past cover?   Most of Trove cuts out at 1954

Many thanks

These are the only DOBROWOLSKI deaths registered in New Zealand since 1900......

1990/29682   Dobrowolski   Czeslaw   4 July 1922

2005/15766   Dobrowolski   Aniela Teresa   24 October 1932

They are husband and wife.

If of any help I can provide the death notice for Aniela Teresa.

Hello.

If Christine came to NZ to be with relatives, the family name of GRUBE had been around for several generations, and a search of Archives NZ records produces a small nunmber of files. Perhaps a Christian name mentioned therein, may be recognised as an indicator of a possible family connection.

A search on NZ BDM for the GRUBE name since 1870 produces:

1 death

No births

No marriages with that name for the bride.

1 marriage for a male Grube.

A rare name for New Zealand.

Agreed Minniehaha.

That is why I'm suggesting that those with knowledge of the family tree may find a family connection. NZ Papers Past has a number of hits over that period, but many are stories naming poeple with the surname GRUBE, who were not NZ residents.
