Hi

I am hoping someone here can help me locate a christening for Rebecca Berry possibly in either Petham or Hastingleigh [or around those areas] in the 1570s or 1580s.

Rebecca married William Dorrell in 1609 and their children were born between 1611/12 and 1620/21.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

I can't see Rebecca on the transcription for Hastingleigh baptisms

Early Petham baptisms have yet to be transcribed on the Hastingleigh site

There was a Rebecca Berry baptised in Stowting 22nd June 1578, daughter of William.

Hi

Thanks for that info, I think this might be her. I had found a Rebecca Berry christened in Hastingleigh in 1598 but she would only be 11 when the first child was born so I doubt it can be her I'm looking for.

Stowting is only 6 miles away so I think it is definitely worth me investigating this further.

I don't know if the PR or BT for Petham are available elsewhere online but I'll keep an eye out in case I can see anything.
