Gregory of Great/Little Gransden
« on: Wednesday 08 April 20 12:46 BST (UK) »
I seem to have a brickwall with my Gregory family.

I have Sarah Gregory bapt 1711 Little Gransden, Cambs. Daughter of John Gregory, Jr and Sarah.

I think this Sarah marries Daniel Huddleston 1727 Longstowe, Cambs.

The family then move to Wimpole and Comberton.

I have Sarahs father as -

John Gregory Jr

Baptised 1674 Great Gransden, Cambs/Hunts

Married Sarah Mumford/Moundford/Mountford 30 Sep 1700 Great Gransden.

Buried ?

I have Johns father as -

John Gregory Sr

Born c1645?

Married an Elizabeth before 1668? Elizabeth is buried 1704 Little Gransden.

Buried 1705 Little Gransden 'John Gregory Senior'

There are 4 children baptised in Great Gransden by John and Elizabeth.

Elizabeth 1668 Great Gransden. Marries Thomas Eld 1686/1687 Little Gransden.

Agnes 1670 Great Gransden. Marries ?

John 1674 Great Gransden. Marries Sarah Mumford 1700 Great Gransden.

Richard 1677 Great Gransden. Marries Ann Allen 1709 Little Gransden.

There is also a burial 11 Dec 1672 in Great Gransden for a Dorothy Gregory but no other information is given.

I cant find a marriage for a John Gregory and Elizabeth prior to 1668 but there is this marriage - Mr John Gregory of Hargrave in the County of Suffolk Clerk, Rector of that parish & Mrs Elisabeth Shephard of Waresley were married by Licence. 4 Feb 1677/78 Great Gransden, Cambs/Hunts.

Is this John Gregory Sr marrying a second wife or is this a different John Gregory all together who happens to be in Great Gransden at the same time?

There is a marriage in Little Gransden in 1634 between a John Gregory and Agnes Newman.
