I seem to have come to a confusing stop regarding research on James Cooke born 1830 Long Whatton Married a Mary Haywood . I went to go furthur back with his supposed mother Ellen ? and his father Willm. Cooke not had much success there though.

Anyway back to my confustion, I found an 1841 Census with Ellen as Head, James Cooke, Mary Cooke and a Lilly Cooke. It seems like Ellen was classed as Widowed.
1841 Census:
https://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&dbid=8978&h=15261067&tid=54121311&pid=192184310166&hid=1013165348514&usePUB=true&_phsrc=yFn640&_phstart=default&usePUBJs=true&currentPageIsStart=

1851 Census:
https://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&dbid=8860&h=9657353&ssrc=pt&tid=54121311&pid=192185141833&usePUB=true

I then find an 1851 Census with them all on again. However James Married Mary Haywood in 1850 and it looks like she is on the 1851 Census but what would have happened to his sister Mary Cooke?

I would have assumed that after Marriage they live togeather back then? Mary Cooke is listed as Daughter of Head and married in the 1851 Census. ???

I cant seem to find Mary Cooke from the 1841 census anywhere and it just keeps giving me info for Mary Haywood as Cooke, Im really confused and its put me at a bit of a standstill.

Looking for help on trying to figure this out, hopefully i have explained it ok.

1851 Mary cook could be down as daughter even though daughter in law. Mary cook daughter may have died / married.

Once library reopens I could have a look in long Whatton records. May be a wait!

That would make sense. That would be nice of you to do when the libraries do open back up and i dont mind the wait. I can always switch to another part of my family tree :) If im still stuck by the time there back open i will send you a message if thats ok.

William 1826 and Charles 1828 are pretty easy to find on Census.
They are both living away from home in 1841

Hi, sorry for leaving my reply so long. All the information you gave me seems to fit in, thank you very much  :)

I was wondering if you would be able to help me again. I have been struggling with William Cookes death (James Cookes Father). I believe he may have died before 1841 as he is not listed on the 1841 census with Ellen (Elenor Tacey who i now have) and on the 1851 census she is listed as widowed, i only found one death record 1839 died aged 41 which would put him born around 1798 but i cant seem to find anything so far on his birth record. I was hoping to find there actuall copy of marriage for more information like parents, but i can only find an index.
