Thank you for the information.
My late husband was a descendant of John Ingram who was his gt. grandfather.  After John and James  died the family all moved to Glasgow and so he never knew anything about his earlier family.  I am very much obliged to you for the information.

I have looked at Ros Atkins site before and noted the Ingrams in Ballyroney.  I felt that they were probably all related in some way, but had nothing concrete to link them so.
As far as the McDowells are concerned that seems to be one of the most common names in Ireland!  Eliza's father was Alexander McDowell a tailor and her mother Rose Moreland.  I have not had any luck with either of them other than their deaths.
William Ingram had a sister, Sarah, who married John Blakely in 1835.  She died a widow naming her brother a executor.
I must thank you, BallyaltikilliganG for all the effort you put into your message, it must have taken you ages!  Thank you, once again.

I thank you very much for the information as I tried to find out when Samuel had died.  I am assuming his wife died before him, but will have to check it out.  As they were Presbyterians I tried to join the Presbyterian historical Society but although the website accepted my payment I have had no further information about setting up an account yet.  Perhaps after the Libraries re-open I shall here.
Thank you once again
