Looking for a link to the online Book of Remembrance but can't find it. Anybody able to help?!

Indeed - some councils are free, some used DeceasedOnline and that can cost £2-£3 per query, some will charge per hour.

When you've paid £200 per year for Ancestry, anything extra has to be really well justified :)

I very rarely go on Ancestry now, can't seem to get to grips with their contents system.  If I ever did wish to see anything I would get a pay as you go package.

I use find my past and their Pro package is about £156 per year.   A lot depends on what records you wish to access doesn't it.
