Thanks for all the good suggestions. The Catherine who moved to Caledon Township was my great great grandmother and an older sister of Donald. It was two of her granddaughters who put the first family tree together and all they had on Donald was where he died and when and his son William D. in Cleveland.
I have considered the Donald from Huron County in the census mentioned, and although I suspect he was related to Angus Fraser another of Catherine's brothers, I think there would have been more about Donald in the original family tree if this was him and why would he be buried in Penetang.

All I know about William was his name and where he lived. He was born before or just after Donald died in 1862 or 63. I can't find Donald in the 1851 or 1861 census which might have his family.
The Donald in Huron County is in census records for 1871 so thats not my Donald.

The William and May who show up in the baptismal records in Cleveland in 1865 are both living with Robert & Isabella Garrett in Lake County, Ohio in the 1870 Census.  William, aged 10, born New York, and May, aged 8, b. Canada.  Isabella may be their natural mother, aged 43, Scotland.  Two younger Garrett children born in Ohio in the household.
