Is this a Royal Navy uniform ww2?

Although he was a Merchant man he was attached to HMS Ethiopian where it’s possible that this picture was taken.

It would merchant seaman have the same sort of uniform

Thank you for that Girl Guide. Certainly looks like the same type of uniform. He seems to be have been attached to H M S Ethiopian (T124X) 1940 to 1943. Plenty of info about this ship around.

Attached a cropped picture of him probably in the  Seychelles With same uniform

Interesting observation Barry. May be it was to protect them from the sermon lol

The priest behind him also has the same helmet and I cannot imagine he is a Royal Marine.

Apart from his training on an Oerlikon Gun there’s reference to the Marine
