Missing Sisters
« on: Friday 24 April 20 14:35 BST (UK) »
Hin all, hope you're all keeping well during this lockdown. It has given me a chance to get back onto my family tree and I have decided to follow my paternal grandmother's line However, I've hit a bit of a brick wall almost right away. Grandma was May Newton born 1st May 1896 in Belgrave,  Leicester. Her parents were Samuel Robert Newton and his second wife Matilda Simpson.
May was one of 10 siblings and 2 half siblings from Samuel's first wife. I am struggling to find any details other than birth and 1901 and 1911 census returns for two of her sisters. Annie was born around 1895 and Rose was born in 1898 both in Belgrave, Leicester. (125 Dorset Street to be exact.) I just can't find any marriages, deaths or entries on the 1939 register for either of them. Neither Grandma no my great aunts/uncles that I knew ever spoke of them as though they had died young so I'm wondering where they might have disappeared to.
Any help or ideas would be most gratefully received. Thanks in advance,

June

Rose isn't quite as straightforward.

The one that died in 1970 was a married lady.  Birth date matches a different Rose.

That's the trap I nearly fell into - removed my reply to avoid confusion.  I can't see anything obvious for her

Nothing obvious at all  :(  There were a lot of siblings but they all have leads to follow.
