33 Salmestone Road - Address Look-Up

Hello all,

I wondered if anybody could give me any history on 33 Salmestone Road? Rough year of build (I have narrowed between 1875 and 1895)? Previous address names (I understand it was called # Capel Villas, Salmestone, Margate, Kent but cannot find which number or if this is really the case)? Previous inhabitants? And anything particularly interesting is possible please?

It does indeed. Wondered if a house number (apart from 33) had been recorded anywhere? I note on the 1895 map that Capel Villas and another terrace of 'villas' had be built in the Salmestone Grange estate but I do not have any details of the original postal address of history of the property. Some census details refer to the property as Caple Villas or Capel Villas.

On the 1901 census, there are 10 houses in Caple Villas. Looking at the position of Caple Villas via Google Streetview, and at one particular resident who was at 7 Caple Villas in 1901 and whose address had morphed to 35 Salmestone Road a few years later, I think number 33 must have been 6 Caple Villas.

Occupant of 6 Caple Villas in 1901 was Robert Walker, a musician from Perth in Scotland.

The number on Reply #1 is the postal address on Salmestone Road and not the original postal number of Caple Villas on Salmestone Grange
