If you look at the 1896 map at https://www.old-maps.co.uk/#/Map/635475/169702/12/100659 there is a block of 10 houses on the south side of Salmstone Road going from Grange Road, this conforms with the 10 houses in Caple Villas in the 1901 Census. RG13; Piece: 821; Folio: 95; Page: 13
So the present number 33 was originally number 6 Caple Villas, as ShaunJ says,  and number 10 was at the Grange Road end.
When all the houses were built that side of the road was renumbered 1 to 41 from the Ramsgate Road end,

Hello all,
I wondered if anybody could give me any history on 33 Salmestone Road
Jack

The number on Reply #1 is the postal address on Salmestone Road and not the original postal number of Caple Villas on Salmestone Grange

I don't know what you mean,The number is 33 Salmestone Road, is this not what you are looking for??

Per directories, Robert Walker (presumably the same one who was there in 1901) was at number 33 from 1913 to 1922.

That all makes sense. Thank you for your help and apologies for the misunderstanding previously. Does anybody have any notable history for this area/property or perhaps more information on the exact year of build?

Thanks,

Jack
