1st Essex Record help needed please
« on: Sunday 26 April 20 14:08 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

I'm helping somebody translate a WW2 Service record and have hit a wall with a sentence!

"Class LA (or 1A?) Seale D"

I can't find it in any list or on the net, can anybody help please?

It relates to operations in Burma.

Regards

Dave

I'm guessing it is a level on the pay scale (scale rather than seale).

See this one: " 11 Sep 44: Reclassified Gunner , class 1A, scale D"

Shaun,

The bigger magnifying glass agrees with you, it's a photocopy of a photocopy!

Many thanks
