Arthur Martin born abt 1866

I can't find any marriages that fit between Arthur and Blanche,

and only 1 possible between Arthur Martin and Grace Emmeline Hawkins in1904 in Kings Norton.
This may not be the right Arthur Martin of course!

1904 marriage was suggested at reply 14 and reply 15 birth reg of their dau Enid (Grace Enid) mmn Hawkins posted.
M/C would be needed to confirm his father's name and if he's noted as widowed

Arthur was the son of John Martin born abt 1866, as it states on his marriage to Annie Maria Tew (of Leire) on the 26 Aug 1897.

Same as you cannot find an Arthur Martin / Blanche ? marriage between 1897 - 1904  (assuming 1904 marriage is the correct Arthur Martin)

Is it possible that Blanche Martin born c1870 Leicester from 1901 census is actually Annie Maria Martin born c1869 Leire Leicester and for some reason was using a different Christian name 

So we can now safely say Annie died before 1901 as Arthur remarried and was living in Gravesend, Kent with new wife and sister in-law Kate Tew.

Just looking over deaths between 1897 and 1901, only one that fits at this stage is in Somerset 1898.

I don't think we should assume that Annie had died. The marriage may simply have broken down; unless we can identify an obvious burial, it could be that Annie was still around, and maybe using another name.

If he's not married to Blanche  a few other possibilities

Just found this, they may of came to New Zealand.  Names under Mr and Mrs A Martin.
I tried searching for births for the couple but nothing coming up at this point.  Will look at NZ rolls to see if there is a Arthur Martin.
