Salamat is a house on the 1939 N I register, search for Leslie Ankhorn and you’ll find it.

That's a good find.  It should be possible to work out roughly where it was now.

One of the properties on that page is in Longfield Avenue but not many of the properties on Longfield Avenue are named on the map.

Thank you so much Gibel, that solves the mystery.  I've taken and look at the 1939 Register and it looks like it was along the New Barn Road.  Many thanks for locating it.

Hi Chempat and bearkat,
It looks like the house was not far from New Barn House on the New Barn Road, taking into acocount the 1939 Register.  Many of the houses mentioned on the register appear to be no longer standing, probably due to the amount of new estates that have been built in the intervening time. 

Thank you to everyone who has helped me with this.  I think this is a close as I'm going to get.  At least I have the correct name for the house - Salamat

It was a large house on a big plot - now demolished and 3 houses built in it's place.
