ANNAPOLIS ROYAL, NEWFOUNDLAND

Hi all,

I am trying to research one of my ancestors who became Lieutenant Governor of Placentia in Newfoundland.  I know he spent some time in Annapolis Royal. 
I have searched Annapolis on Google and sent off some emails to see if any of the people listed on the sites could help.  Many of the emails have come back undeliverable and I seem to be getting nowhere.

Would anybody have any suggestions on who I could contact who would be able to help.  As an officer stationed in Nova Scotia he was involved in the government of the colony, there must be some records held somewhere.  I have also found his name linked to Freemasonary in Canada before 1750 so if anyone can give me any tips how to further this research I would appriciate it.
