Hi

I am trying to find more information on my grandfather Leonard Edwin Oldfield born between 1903-1904 in Camberwell married Kate Arnold born 1905 father to Ann Margaret Oldfield(my mother) 1941- and Roy oldfield. He died in 1949 I think as Moy mother found him dead but I cannot find anything about this like the cause of deatn

You will only get cause of death by buying a copy of the death cert

His birth reg is on freebmd in 1905  and also his death reg in 1949      www.freebmd.org.uk

Order online at  https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/Login.asp

If you want to know his full birthdate and parents names you can look for him on the 1939 register - they are all together

Birth & Deaths certs for that period are available in pdf format at a reduced price of £7.  Full price is £11

Doubt you need his birth cert as all the info re parents is available on the 1911 census and 1939 register

If it was a sudden death - likely there was an inquest but wait until you see the death cert first.
