Missing in 1881 Rastall and son Lancashire maybe Lincolnshire
« on: Friday 15 May 20 19:17 BST (UK) »

I have searched every which way I know to find this man and his son but I am stumped and would appreciate some help. I'm also  unsure which would be the best board to post Lancashire or Lincolnshire  as both counties involved

What I have so far is.
William Rastall born1831 in Aunsby Lincolnshire.  He marries in 1862 in London, St Pancras to Eleanor Jane Skipworth.
They have a son, also in St Pancras London - William Herbert -  the same month they marry. Child is baptised in Lincolnshire in June 1862 as William Edrie Herbert Rastall
They have a daughter Rosamund Evangeline in 1864.
Eleanor Jane dies in 1866 leaving William a widow with two very young children.

In 1871 William, the father is back with his own family in Pickworth Lincolnshire and both children are with other families - ( maybe at school ?) . Rosamund aged 6 is in Sleaford and William, aged 9
is in Folkingham
IN 1881 Rosamund is aged 16 and with an Uncle (John Rastall) in Pickworth, Lincolnshire

At some point his family move to Barton in  Irwell Lancashire

I have a death 1887 for William Herbert (the son)  aged 25 in Barton Upon  Irwell

In 1891 William, the father is with his daughter Rose in Barton Upon Irwell, Lancashire. Rose now has a child  (Herbert William) aged 6mths.
The move to Lancashire intrigue me!
What I can't find involves the 1881 census. Where is William (born 1831) where is his son William Herbert (born 1862).

Brilliant Mabel Bagshaw!  Thankyou so much, I've looked and looked but I know I  would never have found them transcribed like that.

Thank you I shall try that tip myself in future - a case of where 'less is more' is definitely more effective!
