His record is on FindMyPast and Ancestry.  He was 2/6th.  Transferred to 4 Yorkshire Apr 1917 then 2nd.  Became POW in Jun 1918 with 4th again - needs careful reading.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

His army number with Yorkshire Regiment was 235280. Quite a few records have survived for him, including much of his service record (FindMyPast https://search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=GBM%2FWO363-4%2F007403640%2F01038&parentid=GBM%2FWO363-4%2F7403640%2F43%2F1038) and a PoW record (captured at Craonne 27 May 1918). There's also a medical record (GSW to the right cheek, treated at 31 Ambulance Train, 31 July 1917).

There is quite a lot to disentangle. Will read the file and come back with dates and units if Max doesn't beat me to it.
