Hi
I have a burial in the Hinckley Parish Register and in the notes it says "an excommunicate person" any ideas what this can mean?

It's the burial of Robert Paul 30 July 1746.

Thank you. I will have to dig a bit further.
His daughter said she had seen ghosts and could predict the future so maybe it has something to do with that.!!
