1939 adresses missing ?
« on: Tuesday 19 May 20 12:10 BST (UK) »
I`m searching for a man named Lowe born 1895  probably living in Charles Street, Wrexham, Denbighshire.
On Ancestry I can`t find him.
Using address search for Charles Street on FindMyPast ( free) he doesn`t show up,  and it looks like only half the street is there.
Cross checking the names  that are there  on Ancestry and it`s the same.
Any ideas ?
Thanks.

Is ancestry defaulting to an england search?

Is ancestry defaulting to an england search?

 Just checked on that.
I`m putting it as exact for Denbighshire ,  there are some name variations  showing in Wrexham,  so  that can`t be the issue.  ???

The reason that they are showing the same on FindMyPast and Ancestry is because the latter uses the former's data. FindMyPast being the first to be able to publish the register.

Hi

Could be a transcription error or I notice that if the address is dittoed the address is not transcribed so it could be missing.
The street might be in a couple of books so I would go to old fashioned method of going through the books myself.

Have you tried putting in just Charles* and not Road or Street,as they can be shortened to Rd and St,and then they don't show up  ;D
