Martin Oakes and Mary Anne in Broseley
« on: Tuesday 19 May 20 13:13 BST (UK) »
Hi! New here but not to genealogy. Hoping to get a kick start with an old problem which I keep revisiting.

I am stuck with my 3rd great grandfather Martin Oakes, born either 1822 or 1823 in Broseley. He died in 1859 I believe.

He married Mary Anne whose surname was either Binnersley or Billingsley and born in either 1827 or 1826 but possibly 1821 by some of my own research.

By 1861 Mary Anne is Head of household

Any clues in how to move forward with Mary Anne and how to get a DoB/Baptism for Martin?

Thanks in advance

Binnersley

And that is where I had the problem. Thanks to all who have replied I am now able to move on by accepting that it should be Billingsley. I think I have been a little too stubborn in trying to follow Binnersley. Thanks again

I noticed after I had posted and requested a mod to move it. I am researching in Staffordshire and Shropshire and clicked the wrong one. Thanks
