It is good to see that the topics on this site stay open.  I wish I had some new information to report back to you on my grandfather William Moreland, born Whitehaven in 1873. and killed at the Battle of Loos, serving with the 12th (Service Battalion) HLI, on 25th September, 1915.  :o

I did email St Beghs church, supplying them with the information I knew, but I never even received an acknowledgement from them.  So much for courtesy!  ::)

Following the discussion Re: St Beghs with interest, I have in the past been in touch
with a lovely lady there that was so helpful, but I expect she is inundated with requests
of look-ups which she does  in her own free time.
I would like to know if there are any plans to transcribe the records for this church?
I would gladly offer my services if I were not 100's of miles away, so totally reliant on
these records becomming available on-line.

... but the marriage is Mary S ...  :-\  Are they the same person?

As we may be talking about someone who is alive, we need to be careful what we post.

Jumping back to the birth and ignoring the marriage is not the way I would do things.
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

No I wouldnt either Geoff,I would be buying her birth certificate after first researching  the details from her marriage,if it was my own family research,so Alyson if you have any details you wish to share and the persons are deceased ,
