No, I wouldn't put it on anyone else but I have decided, might be unchristian of me but no favours ever, we have done a few in tbe past  even when they weren't talking  to us, but no more,

I wouldn't call that unChristian, I would call it a darn good move. They don't deserve anything from you.

Well there is Christian  and there is daft!
Analyse, and you will find it is not Christian to put unreasonable people into the position where they can exploit you ,that is aiding and abetting their nasty nature. ;D
No seriously you don’t have to be soft with these people,  they are  not starving or in any great difficulties, and if you have reason to resent the way they are after your kindness ,just don’t give in to your better nature again as it will just upset you .
Be kind to someone else instead.
I hope everything works out, your home should be your sanctuary.
Look after yourselves everyone.
Viktoria.

I am totally gobsmacked with how you are being treated Louisa Maud and Viktoria I love your solution to your noise problems!

It's quite incredible how thoughless people can be and not care about it either... as you say at our time if life you don't want all that additional stress just a quiet life to be able to enjoy.

Our neighbours exploits pale into insignificance compared to yours and others and I shall never complain again about a bit of bin rattling!

I hope you can find a solution to it but somehow unless you confront them, which from what you say you're unlikely to do...
if they can behave as thought less as all that then they probably wouldn't see sense anyway...

Louisa, have you considered popping an extremely polite note through their door, asking if they could please turn the music down especially between x and x times (if there are specific times that the music is bothering you more than others)?

Stress how grateful and appreciative you would be etc etc. and maybe offer to do something for them in return (if there is anything)?

I understand how stressful bad neighbours can be, having had both plant hating and disruptive loud music playing neighbours at various times.   >:(

Years ago I did call over the wall before we had a new fence built for their convenience and ours, the father did turn it down but it is the wife who I think is a problem to be honest.

The strange thing is in between these sessions you would think they are in hibernation, it is thoughtlessness in my opinion
