On the military side, the 302nd Tac Recce Sqn only existed between 1953 and 1959 and in 1954 was based in Germany.

Can't see any link to the UK in Ralph Jackson Walker's ancestry: Father was Francis Clark Walker b.1897 Oklahoma, son of Daniel Dee Walker b.1869 Nebraska, son of Charles Samuel Walker b.1835-1840 New York, d.1872.

Could there be a family member in the RAF in  Germany in the 50s who may have met Ralphie when he was serving there and they swapped family photos?

Hi , So I have looked at age etc , . Ralphie father was born 1927 so would have been very young in the war . I think he must have continued his friendship with my grandmother . My sister said Nana looked after American children In London .i  Think as the photo has 1954 on it and that the father is a Sergeant that the family was probably in Germany .  Would it be likely the father was a sergantas a 20 year old ?  I have sent some messages to tree holders so we will see if the connection can be made . It is possibile family stories have been passed down . Thank you for all help . Fred ,

Not sure about your dates.

Ralph's father was born in 1897 (Annette's post) and Ralph in 1926.

I'd suggest the connection to your grandmother is the father.  Ralph junior would have been 27/28 in 1954 and at that age could well have been a Tech Sgt.

The father could well have served in WW2 and have been in UK leaving a photo of his young son (Ralphie) who is later identified as a Tech Sgt in the USAF in 1954.

Hopefully the tree owners will provide some useful information.
