Well.

Ellen Cherry married Henry Rose 1872 reg Stratford A.
Ellen Rose widow of Bishops Tachbrook married David Partlett widower from Moreton Morrell in 1879

in 1881 they are in Newbold Pacey about a mile from Moreton Morrell
David and Ellen Partlett

So it looks like John's real name was Partlett not Bartlett as he thought most of his life.

Not 1882 birth free search 1939 register possibility  John Partlett 1883 Nuneaton M.B., Warwickshire

i think this is John Bartlett (transcribed as Barklett) in the 1911 census, still in Stockingford and still a miner.

Edit
John Partlett married Amy Paxton 1921 Nuneaton.

Could be ruled out as the same person if John can be found as Partlett  on 1901/1911 census

added - There are 8 Partlett/Paxton births Nuneaton between 1922 - 1936 (FreeBMD)

EDITED

I did a quick look last night and again I’ve looked this morning and I’m not seeing a
John PARTLETT on 1901/1911 born Moreton Morrell, Warwickshire other than the 1882 Partlett birth entry Stratford on Avon (mn Cherry) and the 1891 census bn c1883 Moreton Morrell living with his widowed father David and sisters Hannah P, Ellen & Louisa Partlett.

Maybe John did change the ‘P’ to a ‘B’ to slightly alter his surname to BARTLETT  ??? on 1901/1911 census

Edit
John Partlett married Amy Paxton 1921 Nuneaton.

A John Partlett also married an Emma Bayliss in 1914 Nuneaton,  John "Barklett"  was a boarder in 1911 with an Emma Bayliss widow and her sons.  I wonder if he married his landlady if he did it could give you the Bartlett/Partlett connection.
