Joseph Lambert joined the 7th Dragoon Guards in 1801. Sometime between then and 1805, when they went to Ireland, they were in Scotland - Piershill, Edinburgh. They returned to Manchester and then Birmingham c1810.
Joseph married Mary, who we know from the 1841 census was born in Scotland. Their first child was born in 1810. I have found one possible marriage to Mary Billingsley, at All Saints West Bromwich, 8 March 1908. Joseph was baptised at this church.
Putting assumptions together I am looking for the birth Mary Billingsley in Edinburgh - or I could be completely wrong!
